This has been down for a while due to sponsor difficulties, but is back with a new server -
www.fettes.com/scotsatwar/
The site is not specifically dedicated to WW2, but records Scotland's contribution to military history over the past century. You can find details of the various Scottish regiments, ww2 airfields and radar stations and a whole lot more.
There is also a discussion forum, but be warned- it's more of a message board than anything else.
That said, it's good to see an old friend back!

Regards,
Gordon

Ah much better now ! Gordon what will be the major emphasis for the site if you know ? I see the Black Watch is mentioned in a time line but the other regiments ? should seek more information of my relatives in Scotland as several old timers served in the Napoleonics and earlier.

Cheers

Erich

Erich,
Eventually the site will (hopefully) get back to its former high level of documentation. Previously, it had histories of all the Scottish regiments, along with colours, battle honours, recruiting areas etc.
There was also quite a bit on the home front, such as the Bevin Boys and stuff like that, so it's not exclusively a military history site.
There was also a full list of ww2 raf fields, radar stations and a whole lot more that seems to be missing just now. As I say, it's only just back up and running after a few months when it was dropped by another of its previous host sites, so it's early days.
If you want really detailed info on British regiments, try www.regiments.org
This has been run by TF Mills for almost a decade, and although I haven't personally been in for a while, it's well worth a look.
You could also try the Scottish Military History Society.

Regards,
Gordon
