This is great work Erich. I am always surprised when I see the condition of the Jumo engine after all those years. The amazign thing is that the team actually started a huge Jigsaw to make it flying again and using as much as original parts as possible.

Wow, the bearings in that engine do not look like they are 60 plus years old! That is amazing Skipper! The guns too, very cool! I wondered though how it got so far beneath the ground, did the impact drive it that far into the ground or were these things just buried in those days? Just curious!
thanks!!

how many years of fill dirt have been brought in over the many years big fun, that has been a cultivated field for who knows how long, silt, rock, soft muck you name it. When I saw this vid I was thinking of my Cousins A-9 crate 6-15 feet below the surface in central Germany, part of the rig is still there but no-one has disturbed it.

truly this is a great memory

Thumbs up Re: Dora recovery

BAHAAT have a high reputation and the video shows why. A superb archaeology project !

As for the condition ; the ground in Flanders is probably some of the softest in Europe. Just think of those WWI 'swamp' photos - the soft soil depth is almost bottomless with no rock strata at all.

I was surprised when I saw one guy pulling the Mg while having his nuts just above them. I wouldn't have taken any chances. I suppose he knew what he was doing but there must have been some amno there.
