Default Americans in Russia???

I was reading a short article about how the Reds captured Vladivostock from the Whites in 1919. They recoutned that there were some 10,000 American soldiers in Russia, they mentioned Archangle and then their movement to the East. Any ideas on why they were there?

Definitely helping the white Generals to put out the revolution and save the western companies´firms and mines etc. Also trying to start a new war against the Germans as the communists had made a deal with Germany to end the war.

The US 31st Infantry Regiment that surrendered on Bataan was there. That is where they got their name, The Polar Bears, from.

I found this link for you.
