I know it is a opened ended question but Which do you think was the worst most horrifying war that was ever fought. Use your own means to decide based on your own opinions. Weather it be the nature of the fighting, the Death tolls, maimed or injured, you decide.

I left out quite a few but I chose the lists based on total deaths

I chose the ACW because new, more powerful weapons with better accuracy were used against old Napoleonic tactics. Warfare would never be the same. The worst fear for any soldier was not to be killed, but to be wounded and left on the field to be mutilated by the surgeons.

I think this poll is rather...irrelevant/unanswerable. All War is horrifying. Its extremely hard to ask those who have never experience war from a first hand experience. I think those who experienced any of those wars would clearly say there's was the most horrifying.

So my answer would be: All of them.

I too agree. You can't rate a war that way. I can assure you that in every war if you asked all who were involved,civilian and military, they would all claim that thiers was the most.

Ok bad idea. Just thought it would be interesting to see what others thought. I know it's always hard with questions like these but, I thought we could put some things aside to get some honest opinions. Some would think WW2 would be worst when looking at destruction of cities, civilian deaths etc. while others would look at the military casualties and such.
