Looking for my grandfather named ?Barber (don't have the surname or no.) who was serving in ww2 on an island called abemama (apamama as also known)in Kiribati( Gilbert islands). Not really sure when but from what gathered was working probably in the army working on the O'Hare field that the americans construct on the island.

I am not sure if you can help me. I am tracing down my grandfather served in ww2 on abemama (apamama), Gilbert group. His name is barber (not sure about surname or no.) but they called him barber. I think he was in the army or seabees. He named my mother Marcy.

Pls post in any information or picture of any barber serving on abemama.
