can anyone give me a run down on this?

I posted a bunch of information requests before and with much help from people on here we came to the conclusion that my grandfather served in the 85th "Custer Division" in WW2.

So I need everyones help again. Is this his group shot from basic training in the states? And any other information would be awesome
