Re: need help with research.
Jasen,
You're probably going to hard pressed to find much about these two small, non-divisional formations.
As far as the 356th is concerned, all I can find is dates and location when it was formed and disbanded and four movement dates, from the US to Guadalcanal to the Philipines and back to the US.
I've not been able to find any mention of the 452nd Amphibious Truck Co.

Re: need help with research.
Thanks for trying to find info for me. The only reason I'm trying so hard to find info on those units is because I'm trying to do reasearch on my deceased grandfather. The only paper work I have on him has thoseunits listed.

Re: need help with research.
I would suggest reading up on the actions that happened in the areas where he was sent and then thinking about what those units did as a job and you might be able to paint a picture in you mind as to decipher how it all worked I would think that they were supply guys who manned the search lights for aircraft while people unloaded the DUKWS they prolly manned airbases also, assited in transpo of material and troops and I can garentee they got strafed and bombed and attacked.
