Default Some WWII photos

These are some of my grandfather's photos. I figured I'd post them here, perhaps someone will recognize a relative of theirs.

In the top picture, my grandpa is the one between the women--He was a Staff Sgt. He served from 1939 to 1946 in I believe the 11th Infantry, first guarding the Panama Canal before the war and being shipped off to Europe not long after Pearl Harbor, where he fought in the Northern France campaign including the Battle of the Bulge and was shot in the leg by a sniper in Luxembourg in January 1945, for which he received a Purple Heart. He spent over a year in the hospital receiving numerous surgeries but luckily he kept his leg. He received a Bronze Star, though we don't know what for due to the 1973 Hall of Records fire which wiped out a good portion of his records. We do know he was stationed for a time in San Francisco on leave, that he tried to join the Paratroopers in 1943 and was turned due to overwhelming numbers, and that he wanted to work for the CAC, however he ended up meeting his first wife while in the hospital and left the army. We also that one of his medals included a medal indicating membership in the "Europe-Italy-North Africa" campaign, though no official records of his service in Italy or N. Africa surivive due to the fire.

Very nice photos! Do you know who the rest of the soldiers and women are in the photo?

I know that the woman on the right was someone named Barbara Lamar or Barbara Laman the woman on the right was someone named Jinx Falkenburg, though I have no idea of their relationship to my grandfather or any of the other men.
Here's some more, all of which were taken sometime between October and November of 1942.

In the second photo, the man on the left is someone known as "Sgt. Buescher" I believe, I can't quite understand my grandfather's handwriting.

Jinx Falkenburg was an actress. Here's a link to more info. Jinx Falkenburg - FamousWhy

I haven't gotten any further with the others, but perhaps it was during some kind of USO tour?

Great pictures, anyway.

I wonder if perhaps there was some kind of film made with them and her. That'd be interesting as my grandpa's been deceased since '75 and so there's only one short silent 8mm film of him--no sound recordings. I wasn't born when my grandfather passed away so it'd be cool to hear what he sounded like.

At least 4 of the men in the top photo were USHERs - at least that is my take when you compile the exposed letters on each arm band.

Good Photos. I hope someone has some information!

Doesnt seem to be a Luger... looks to be a 1911A1. The way he is pulling the slide back makes it look like a .45 The Luger's action pops up above the gun not behind it

Plus, with the way he's handling it, it would seem like an extremely awkward hand position if he was holding a Luger.
