Hi Everyone,
Are there any IPMS members here?
I'm a member of the Wellington branch here in New Zealand. We are the bigest/strongest in the country.

I model, but not well enough to join any clubs. I love a good model though, and I appreciate the artform.

Me too ! I just don't have the space to keep plastic models ( I keep dreaming about buying a Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster but where can I display it ? ? ) - but I love reading about other enthusiasts modelling 'adventures'.

Yes I was for several years. Thought the quarterly booklet was a waste of time though......
say how about putting that Lanc/Hali on the ceiling, and of course my British friends you must have a Ju 88G-6 Nachtjäger chasing it....
and yes a mossie night fighter chasing the Ju

Problem with dangling them from the ceiling is - the upper surface gets coated in dust, someone reaches up to flick a feather duster and... crash ! More effective than Schrage Musik
( I remember this happening to an Airfix Stirling bomber when I was about 10 - the mental scars are still with me..... )

Good on ya Bish!
I keep my Models in a display cabbenet (sp) along with my medals, do the trick with keeping the dust off.

Martin :
I know this feeling all too well. Had a B-24 being chased by a heavy Fw 190. both on my ceiling. Went to clean cob-webs with my mum's broom and I knocked both against the wall....arg, I cried for two days as both were 100 %
Kiwi, I tried that back in the 1970's and still had dust accumulate inside. My model a/c have passed away long ago when I was scratch building radar sets for my German night fighters as there was nothing available then.

Do you build dios or free standing models. The problem i have with dios is that some of them are just to big to put in cabinets. The ones i have on show are on top of the bookcase, video cabinets and any other free space i can find. Drives the wife nuts Luckly, she goes no where near them with a duster

I used to build dios, but now I just make free standing models. Just because of that one reason, space!

Yes. Have been a member of the IPMS Three Rivers (Pittsburgh, Pa. USA) division since 1989. Pros and cons of being a member, I'm afraid.
