I'm new to modeling and I'm doing a rather simple model, the SdKfz 302 Goliath demolition vehicle. Anyone know about some good book sources or images online? Also any tips on painting/assembling individual track links would be great.

Otto, I don't know if you're still looking for something like this, but here's a link to a place selling an original Goliath.

Plastic ones, they came with the kit. They were a massive pain in the butt as most of them came as individial links, and they were quite small. I'll post images when I can get them scanned.

Right, then if you have not taken them from the sprue yet, i would suggest painting them first.
I paint mine rust first. Then go over with a natural metal, and finally silver the areas where wear would accour.
As for assembly, be patient.
i would build them straight onto the wagon a few at a time, allowing them to dry. Probably best to start at the bottom and glue straght on a wheel

Bish, that's great advice, but I've already made the first model, so they ar off the sprue, but the kit came with two goliaths, and the second one is still intact. I'll follow your advice this time, and it seems it will be much easier this go round thanks to you.
Your advice about painting is also helpful, thanks!

Well, with the right weight or explosive charge I am sure it can do damage in the next series of 'Robot Wars'
