thanks man. Otto says it.........the weathering is terrific, really impressed with the tracks. Have you by chance had opportunity to show this to any of the vets from that armor section of the marine Division ?

The mud is well done. I' expected to see some paraphernalia hanging from the Sherman, bedrolls, buckets, whatnot...

Za, I didn't hang stuff on the tank because I didn't see this put into practice on other Tarawa tanks. I don't know if this was because they had to wade ashore (some of them sank) or because of Navy Regs. Also, most, if not all, were destroyed within a few days.

The first shot made me look a little closer, as it looks just like the real thing!

Great answer! To my mind a model should be based on a photo of a specific vehicle instead of being a generic.

Re: Cuddles, the friendly jap killing tank.
Excellent job.
I've got more than a couple (50+) 1/35 scale WW 2 Armor you can finish up for me, if your in the area.
I've got everything you need except ambition/time.
I'm busy painting troops and accessories, attaching them, re-painting, and putting together dioramas.
You can finish them off and weather them.
I give you a free hand.
Free beer and all the books you can read, and videos you can watch!

Great job Shlitz. Here's a shot of your tank 38 kilometers North of Tours France on N138:

Nice Photoshop White Flight! It reminds me of a ww2 photo of a sherman advancing past a house with troop support, I can't seem to find it now, but it is eerily similar.

Sloniksp, Peppy – thanks. I update the pic with a different frame to include Shlitz’ Corsair.

Re: Cuddles, the friendly jap killing tank.
Well, I can see placing the images in France was way off. I overlooked the I.D. of the Pacific Theatre. Sorry Shlitz. I might take a look at my father-in-law's album for background. He was in the 202nd Anti Aircraft Artillery/Automatic Weapons Battalion.

Re: Cuddles, the friendly jap killing tank.
Great job Shlitz. That mud effect is exactly what is missing in my models. How did you do it? Don't tell me that you drove it right into your backyard in a rainy day.I am hungry for information.

Re: Cuddles, the friendly jap killing tank.
Kerem, I use dry pigments for the mud. These were purchased at an art supplies store. Dick Blick, I believe. They come in dry powder form and I simply mix it with water and dab it on.

Re: Cuddles, the friendly jap killing tank.
Oh, I see. Thanks Sergeant. I think I'll have some trouble finding that here. I'll just drive mine into the mud. Or go online shopping and pay $50 just for the shipping.
And by the way, have you thought of placing that model on a platform that looks like earth with track traces on it?

Glade you like it. I felt rather silly overlooking the obvious theater though. There's a shot of a destroyed Japanese armored vehicle in my father-in-laws album. I'll edit it some time this week, black and white of course.
