Default Smoke for miniature gaming?

Hi guys, we use cotton wool for smoke for our war games.

Does anybody have any ideas for how to color cotton wool Grey so it looks more like smoke?

I would like to create a color similar to the some in these war game photos...

NWA WW2

Thanks

Dark gray spray paint from below, and after that's dry light gray spray paint from the top.

I'd dip it in gray water color and let it dry.

Go get clothing dye at a fabric shop. That is what it is for. Unlike paint it will not make the cotton heavy and "unfluffy" as Za suggests. You just need to dye it and then thoroughly wring it out before letting it dry.
