I am a BIG fan of the 8 Rad sdkfz. Very nice work on this sdkfz 234!

Just out of curiousity, were there any sdkfz 232s in Rumanian service during the war?

Malasorte :

Your Puma represents what Heer unit ?? Nice clean work. anyone read just how fast this little eight wheeled gem traveled. I was reading in some reference I believe years ago in the Ardenne that they could hit 45mph on a good level road ??? ..... probably chased by jabos

confirm that or ?

thanks E ~

Hum, by the time the Pumas appeared the PzGrey paint scheme had gone out the window, actually it had been replaced in Feb.43 ...

This is a better depiction...

interesting Za that the tires are the same in camo appearance. great model too. on the Ost front by early 45 anything goes. A friend gone now served in the 1st Infantrie Divison on the East front in Ost Preußia and he observed them in all light grey with dirty white paint chipping off but even there due to the ever presence of the LW diminishing they always used loads of tree branches and brush for camo added. The Recon unit would also with these 5cm guns lie in ambush trying to pop unsuspecting T-34's from the flank.

Not wishing to argue with you, but I suppose the painter's intention was to make the tyres look dusty...

I agree with the "anything goes" but would like to qualify that. One of the problems with vehicle models is that anyone can do a model as he fancies, but woe betide the airplane modeller who uses spurious markings for instance!

So I'd modify the above to "anything goes if proved by a photo or other reliable source"

Za I know full well of what you speak, my reference anything goes is appropriate for the time period of all of 1945, even in the spring April/May of 45 Recon and halftracks in the Ost still had remnants of grey/white winter camo and then of course, zig-zags patterns blotches, reminscent of late war LW a/c camo. maybe they got the idea for ground concealment due to the heavy presence of Soviet ground attack fighter-bombers. I'll see if I can post a pic or two to explain further but you have the idea. some of the present Deutsche Wochenschau footage show this

the wishes of course are always up to the modeller but yes you are correct about a/c they get nailed hard by the critics
