Default R/C Tamiya Tiger tank track help?

hi there guys. i'm new at this. i have a quick question. I have the tamiya 1/35 R/C tiger tank with the rubber tracks it comes with. but after wear and tear the rubber tracks fell apart. i was wondering if there is metal tracks available for this kit? also does anyone know how the metal tracks work? like how are they assemble and are they capable of moving on a R/C. ok thanks.

Lightbulb Re: R/C Tamiya Tiger tank track help?

There are a lot of after-market tracks available for the 1/16 Tamiya and Heng Long Tigers, but I'm afraid I don't know of any which are made of metal. I think that this is partly because of the strain which the weight would put on the drive mechanism ; I have a (static ) 1/16 FOV Tiger which has linked metal tracks and they are very heavy indeed......

Welcome Panzer,
If it were metal 1/16th tracks you needed they're fairly easy to source, after a hunt I can see why you're having trouble finding 1/35th ones.

It seems they did do a version of the 1/35th RC Tiger with metal tracks:
Tamiya America Item #89628 | German Tiger I w/Metal Tracks - Late Production
But as it's discontinued & no longer figures on their normal parts lists it might be best to contact Tamiya for a spare parts number which would aid greatly in the search (ebay a likely place to look).
There are companies making aftermarket metal tracks for static models (Fruilmodel etc.) but even though they're fully articulated when made they would be very unlikely to withstand RC type activity.

Cheers, (and good luck)
Adam.

Red face Re: R/C Tamiya Tiger tank track help?

Whoops ! I failed to spot the vital '1/35' part of the posting....

Lucky we have others here who are slightly more awake than me !

Hi all,
the only things available are the fruil model tracks in 1/35th scale.
i`ve used them on static models, wouldn`t know how good the metal pins would hold up to radio controlled usage.
