2 Tanks. + A Howitzer and an Aeroplane.
Hi, i don´t know if you guys are so interested in plastic models, but i thought i´d show off two of mine:
They are both 1:72 scale.

The T34 is not yet completed, it needs decals.

But the tiger is older and i broke it accidentally sometime ago, lost the tracks and some other minor parts, so i decided to make it a destroyed Tiger. And i know its not a realistic color for it, but its the only "army":ish color i have.

Now that's how a Tiger should look like:
Knocked out!!

Re: 2 Tanks.
Yep, great looking models. Even the Tiger looks good even if it´s "destroyed".

Re: 2 Tanks.
G'day from one model maker to another
I think the T34 looks great, and the tiger looks good to except for a few details.
eg. The upper track on this side looks like it should have fallen off, like backwards since it is nearly a 3 ton track(even if there is 3/4 missing. and it looks like there should be some damage under the barrel and lower turrent, becasue judging by the "damage" that it "recieved"(aka. you inflicted ) it looks like it was a shell that hit the front right hull and penetrated the armour, maybe there should be some internal damage, such as outward bent metal from shell fragments in the turrent or the hull, or a blown out hatch (you could say the ammuntion in side went off when it was hit.) . plus back to the track, if the right front was hit in terms of reality, why is the bottom of the track missing? It would still be there, pretty much in any circumstance, unless the tiger rolled and the track fell of, but then why is the top track still connected?
What does the other track look like? if it is complete why not swap them over and adjust the complete track to suit the damage?
something I learned with making models was to make a basic story with what ever you were doing eg. (tiger advancing got hit by antitank shell, ammuntion exploded making the bent metal, track fell backwards off beacuse it got broken near the impact site, burnt due to opening in hull and fire from inside scorched the tank, something like that anyway.)
see if you sent that into a modelling competetion or model magazine thats how hard they are, trust me i read the reveiws of picture theses people so. eg. dead american on LCI (landing craft infantry) ramp, hand sticking straight out not curled over the side, now thats perfectionist's.
but hey it still looks good, but it depends on how real looking you want it. if if that was the kinda answer you were looking for.

Re: 2 Tanks.
The tracks are glued on both sides, the "undamaged" side has more pieces left, but i dont want to remove them ;D When i made this tiger i was not so interested in realism in modelling so it is kind of half-assed, but i may damage it more later on.
Ty for the constructive comment, will help me a lot on the future, i.e if im going to make a diorama.

Not a modeler but I do like the 'destroyed' look on the Tiger. Have not seen any destroyed models. Good work

Re: 2 Tanks.
Both tanks look great to me ! The Tiger has everything except black smoke coming out of it. Perhaps you can add some dead crew hanging from the hatches.

Re: 2 Tanks. + A Howitzer and an Aeroplane.
Finished the T34. The stripes i painted myself even though the kit provided Decal-stripes. I made the decision based on what ive seen on real pictures, the stripes on T34´s all look to be quickly painted and not completely straight etc.
So i thought this might add some realism. The number is from the decal set provided, it would have been too hard to paint.

Re: 2 Tanks. + A Howitzer and an Aeroplane.
the howitzer looks great love that one. And ues you are right about the T-34 paint job were you in a rush? (if you put special model sticky tape from point A to B you can due perfect lines thats what I did with the bismarck).
These arn't very good photos (I am just terrible with a camera ) but his is my KM Bismarck about 4 years in the making, been broken numerous time, mainly the towers, and the direction finding equipment, if you can tell there are no masts on it at the moment due to an idiot friend playing around with it .
and this one
In this one you can really see the masts I was talking about(or lack of)

Re: 2 Tanks. + A Howitzer and an Aeroplane.
No, the stripes are messy on purpose. They were messy in real life too, i.e this picture:

The first tank is an IS2, but the ones behind it are t34/85´s and as you can clearly see the stripes are uneven and painted without much care. That is what i was trying to achieve by painting the stripes by hand.

Re: 2 Tanks. + A Howitzer and an Aeroplane.
Keep at it and you never know just how good you might become!
Two notes: On the howitzer...you can see the seams in the parts. Need to watch that. Use a x-acto knife or file on the seams to remove them! This is critical to a good model.
On the T-34, you might have done this but I can't tell from the photo. There would also be a large white cross on the top of the turret too. You can see parts of this in the photo on some of the open hatches of the tanks in the column. Historical accuracy is great and painting the lines on rough was the right thing to do.
