Default 708th Amphibian Tank Battalion - Beach Yellow Two, Saipan

Yet more 20mm/1/72nd wargames stuff...

These LVTs are based on those that landed in the initial waves at Saipan in 1944.

The two yellow stripes on the hull sides indicated that the vehicles were designated to land at 'Beach Yellow Two'. It was at this beach that the LVT(A)-1 on which these are based was knocked-out during the beach fighting.

They are all destined for my mates Pacific War collection so I hope they do him proud. They are a little pressie for him to aid in his fight against the forces of the rising sun!

Vehicles by Britannia with added floors, figures by AB, Britannia and Fantassin.

nice pics mate.

Now of the subject but was it possible or feasible to load and fire, say a 60mm mortar from a LVT?
