Oh lord, Gamecocks fan here in Columbia. How's it going?

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome so far!

I guess everyone has their cross to bear. Are you a fan of the Old Ball Coach?

Well sure I love him now that he's our coach and changing the way football is played and perceived here at USC. Hated him like everyone else did when he was with Florida, though.

Incidentally, what do you think of Saban? Being a die hard Miami Dolphins fan, I have a deep hatred for the man right now...

I'm supportive, but as with all coaches, ask me again in 3-4 years. If he can get the Capstone back to some semblance of stability and competition, I'll be happy. Right now he's having to try to make chicken salad out of chicken manure, with what was left for him by Mike Shula. The last 8-10 years have been hard on us.

I wasn't a big fan of The Visor when he was at Florida. He seems to have gotten a bit more humble at SC.

I was at the first UA\SC game after y'all joined the SEC. The first two UA possesions netted no 2nd, 3rd or 4th downs. Everyplay was for 10 or more yards. Quite an introduction to SEC football. Y'all have improved greatly since then.

My neighbors are major, industrial-strength Clemson fans.

Sorry to hear about your neighbors.

I think I remember that UA/USC game - it was a 48-7 debacle if I remember correctly in Tuscaloosa for us. Yeah, those early years were none too kind...

I think the OBC has mellowed somewhat since coming back to the college game - don't know if it's because he's older and wiser or maybe the NFL experience humbled him a little bit? Regardless, he's done some amazing things in three short years here, much to Lee Corso's chagrine

So what brought you to these forums, an overall interest in ww2 or something more specific?

A strong interest in all things related to the era. I was looking for some information and found Otto's other site, although it wasn't his at the time. Then I got to looking at other forums and found this one, liked and stayed.
