Grüber will become famous soon enough
Default Hi ww2 forum, Grüber here.

I am a new forum member (44 yrs old, not from 1944....)
from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Rotterdam in Holland is allways remembered by the
germans bombing it in May 1940.

But that's a long time ago now......

I am a militaria collector and also like to visit
the battlegrounds. I have a nice collection off
then and now photo's. I have spend hours on
finding that one three, or house on a black and
white photo to make the "now" photo.

But it is fun to be in that photo were it all happened.

And, for those who do not know, Grüber is from
the famous Allo-Allo tv-series.

Cheers,
Edward

Welcome to the forum, Edward...finally...

Nice to see Otto got you 'sorted'.

As Wessex Wyvern has mentioned, there are a number of us on the forum who enjoy 'then and now' comparisons, so please post your photos.

Welcome to the Forum, Edward. As the daughter of a Canadian Veteran who served in Holland I'm always interested in anythig to do with the battlegrounds of the Netherlands (and Belgium & France). I look forward to seeing your posts.

Hello Edward. I was in Rotterdam less than 24 hours ago . It's a great place and I took many pictures. I have some questions about the British presence in Hoek van Holland from 1945 to 1961. Maybe you can help me with that.

Hi Skipper,

Yes that is close to Rotterdam. In the 70-ties we took the train to the beach and discoverd the bunker complexes. It was very exiting!
I have here at home a lot of spare gasmaskglasses. Hundreds we had found of those.

Bunkers are not my specialty but maybe I can help you. Just ask......

Were you also in Rotterdam for WWII things or just for the fun?

Edward
