I and my question

hello everybody
My name is Asker, i'm Chirkassian by nature, living in Russian Federation, military servant.
I've taken part in some Inet-project and placed some questions on forum of my natives - Chirkassians - living in Turkey. And they said me about this site.
The questions were about how people in other countries know the history of the War which in Russia is called The Great Patriotic War, so this is probably the good site to get the answers.Can the questions below be placed here? Those they are:

Today many Russians believe that people in the West, as well as in Eastern Europe, don't respect the role of Soviet Union and its citizens in the common victory over fascism. Russians suppose that the USSR and its soldiers are considered to be "occupants" by the Europeans and Americans.
We'd like to prove it. Let us ask you some questions please. We shall be grateful if you could answer them.
- what do you know about World War 2?
- what do you know about the participance of the USSR and Soviet people in this war? what do you know about the consequences of World War 2 for the Soviet Union and its people?
-could you estimate the reasons and results of World War 2?

Hello, Welcome on the forum! You have asked many questions at the same time. But the answer is obvious: Just have a look in our Russia at War section . It deals about the Eastfront. You will see great discussions that go from Kurks to Stalingrad up to Berlin, not Forgetting Leningrad, Finland, Crimea and many other theaters. Many of our members know a lot about Russian vehicles and not only the T-34. if you still are not convinced we have members with forum names such as Za Rodinu, Choukov etc... So believe me we are very much aware of the Role of Mother Russia during WWII.

If you wish to ask us members more I must ask you for a little more spesific questions as most of us "top-posters" and many others here have spent a lifetime learning about WW2 so we know quite alot but we´re here to learn even more....

I assure you that the former USSR and its achievements in the Great Patriotic War are well known and respected in this Forum, which is full of wise people.

We as a collective body share deep knowledge on all matters that regard the causes and results of the GPW, and the role of the Soviet peoples is widely recognised.

Welcome to the Forum, Tanasker. As mentioned you will find many threads which discuss Russia's role in the Second World War. The numbers of Russian's killed is almost difficult to comprehend - it was such a vast sacrifice. Enjoy reading and learning what the members know - it may take you some time though!

Hi Tanasker, the role that the USSR had in WWII was as important as any nations contributions to defeating the Axis in WWII. My Grandfather, who was Captain of the SS Fort Lee (a US Merchant Marine Ship) made many trips delivering supplies to Russian ports. Most notably, he also made a few trips to Murmansk as well-delivering anything from Grain, to raw rubber, Tires, Jeeps, Tanks, Trucks, medicine, blankets, bullets, carburators, sheet-metal, k-rations etc etc.

I have his Ships Log which discusses times, dates and what was delivered and to where-during WWII-rather-up to November 2nd 1944-when his sip was hit by two torpedoes from the German Submarine: U 181-uunder the command of Kapitan zur See Kurt Freiwald.

You will also find my main interest in WWII now is anything and everything to do with the fighting on the Eastern Front.
