I'm a 35 years old french and I'm deeply interrested about ww2 since a couple of years, because of my own family history (certainly like many of us here!).
I do not doubt finding a lot of infos on this site and tranmits you greetings.
ps : and sorry my english isn't very good.

Re: hi there
Welcome Gaston! You will enjoy your time here, as this is a wonderful place to hang out and learn. Of course, your English is just fine and I admire your willingness to use it. I am always afraid to use my French for fear of destroying your language (even though I studied it for ten years!).
Cheers!

Re: hi there
Another Frenchman! Welcome aboard, M. le Commandant, the French contribution is well recognised here, and there is still much to be told so get on with your stories

Re: hi there
I thanks you all for your welcome.
To Wessex Wyvern : yes my two grandfathers were.
Unfortunatly I haven't many informations about them.
One was made prisoner in France's north-east but I don't know exactly where. He was simple soldier but he even...hadn't a rifle (tsssk french logistics...). He died unfortunatly before I started to be interested on ww2.
The other one was a staff officer (commander), he was made prisoner too, was send in an oflag and he realised during his captivity an interresting diary on french officers life in camps, with several illustrations. If my father permits me, I'll scan it and I'll create a thread on. After that he was in the "armée d'armistice". He joined the resistance (probably in 43) and was arrested and killed by vichy's militians on august 44.

Re: hi there
Welcome to the WWII Forums Gaston!
We have a fairly good biographical research area here: Military Service Record & Genealogical Research - World War II Forums it's a good place to start looking for info on a specific person.
