Hi there, cheers for the reply

I've posted a little bit on the information requests section with regards to his regiments etc

He was born in 1920 and enlisted in 1943, Originally from Whitby Yorkshire my family now live in York

He has a fantastic tattoo of an Angel spread all across his chest which he had done in Singapore, only thing is, after a heart op when he was stitched up they didn't line it up properly....... Bloody butchers

He rarely speaks about his army days, I know he saw some sights because I remember been pretty young and he opened up about finding soldiers in pow camps and the extreme conditions they had been living in etc

He recently got his medals re-issued and I plan to have a good chin wag with him before it's too late but I would never want to upset him, My dad told me about all his photos etc been destroyed in a flood and was looking to maybe find some online. I thought I'd do some research on his regiments whilst I was looking...... Now I'm hooked!!!
