130squadron is an unknown quantity at this point
Default finding out about Dad

Hello everyone. I was a child during the war remember the bombing avidly where I lived in Essex the V1s and V2s that destroyed our families homes and loads of things that influenced a young boy at the time. From being fitted with a gas mask listening to Lord Haw Haw ( I think thats how you spell it ) and stacks more which I wont bore you with.
I just received my Dad's war service records and whilst I knew some facts this has filled in more gaps. Two strong memories were standing outside a pub near Warly Barracks Essex drinking a lemonade and consuming an arrowroot biscuit whilst Mum and Dad had a few moments together. Then the big memory of him arriving at our door on his home coming with his kit bag and me thinking how different he was from how I remembered him.
His service was mostly in Egypt and Palestine and does not seem to be involved in anything dreadful but I would like to find out about the hospitals he served in whilst in the R.A.M.C. and any other information.
I have spent time researching my family in W War 1 and have amassed a good deal of information about that.
As you can see I am ex R.A.F. and 130 squadron in Bruggen Germany has happy memories from 1955/6 hence the name above.
I am in any case interested in WWar and have done some reading.
Colin
