Greetings from Northern Virginia
I'm a younger guy who just found the forums and couldn't help but join when I saw the veterans posting their stories. Indeed a true treasure and a good use for the internet!
Growing up I spent many years in Europe with my father who was stationed in Augsburg, Germany with the US Army. Trips to Normandy, Bastogne, Dachau, Berchtesgaden, Berlin, Munich, Italy, and Atlantic Wall defenses in Denmark all made a lasting memory in my mind. Visits with B-26 pilots, a Doolittle Raider, sailors, and others have given me a deep respect for all those involved in WWII.
I'm here to learn from them and from those who know so much about the conflict. Thank you for your service.

Re: Greetings from Northern Virginia
Welcome Tervlon. I envy your growing up in Europe. When I was a boy, every adult male I knew had served in some capacity during WWII. I just assumed everybody served and left it at that. Now as the ranks grow thin, I realize what a wealth of history I grew up with. Enjoy your stay.
