Default G'day from Oz

Hi,
thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm a British ex-pat currently living and working in Australia. I've been interested in WWII since being given a full set of Purcells History of the Second World War magazines as a small boy and noticing the extensive bomb sites that still existed in 60's Britain. I probably know more than the average but a lot less than the experts.
While my interest lies in all aspects of the war my current main avenues of research are the activities around the immediate aftermath of the conflict and the history of desertion.

I hope to take much information from here and, perhaps, give a little back.

Welcome rubber chicken. Will be interesting to read posts from a Brit point of view. Enjoy your stay.

hey desertion you say, i saw a show wer an officer in berlin had i think 20 men under his command. anyway they couldnt find any food so they stopped at a candy store and filled up on that instead lol. so then they slept there but then in the morning the adjacent wakes up the officer and says "sir the men have deserted us" thought it was funny at the time. great to have another aussie here aswell... or well half? i dunno lol
