Great work Friedrich!

BTW, what´s the celebration for? Someone got promoted or received a high order medal? Or just the usual "German officers meeting" kinda thing?

Maybe they're celebrating that they finally got rid of Patton and have Mark Clark on his place!

Once heard a tape by a pilot named Colonel Prouty who flew 11 German Generals out of Africa after axis surrender. He had no pistol & said they could very easily overpowered him & made him fly to Italy. But he said that for them the war was "o"verr. They had no further interest in it whatsoever.

Great work fried, I'm impressed! That is a very dapper group of German officers you have there. Do you do artistic requests?

Friedrich, I am sorry that I have not talked to you in quite some time, but have been in and out of the hospital over the last two months with surgeries. Actually, tomorrow is hopefully my last one. I can tell you, however, that I have gotten quite a bit of information for you, and am just now working on getting it on the computer, but typing with one hand is a bit of a daunting task. I guarantee (and that's not often) that you will have my findings by the end of next week (shall we say, Sept 25th?). Take care,

DUCE

Thanks a lot, my girl! I'll appreciate it even more now that you have all much of a problem typing the text.

But what happened to your hands, dear?

alright, so not quite the 25th, but close.

as for you racial laws, friedrich, there were no true racial laws set in fascist italy until 1938, as mussolini himself seemed to change his views regularly. for example, when mussolini was in the south, he frequntly claimed that even though he was born in the north, he was a southerner at heart. then, when hewas in the north, he never failed to mention that he was born in the north. it wasn't until hitler influenced mussolini that he really started enforcing anti-semetic laws. he even went as far as claiming that all true italians were infact arians as well, relying on a theory focusing on the movement of civilizations years and years before italy became united. this is impotant, because even though itsly had become one, united country, the people were still vastly devideed between north and south. up until the first real anti-semetic laws in 1938, mussolini and his blackshirts were more concerened with persecuting the anti-fascists.

an aportant academic/arts/military school that has been around since 1810 (well before the unification of italy) is the Scuola Normale Superiore, in Pisa. It was originally dedicated to Napoleon, believe it or not, and military tactics/strategy was offered there as well. it is quite possible that your character could have gone here.

in terms of your character having an "in" to the party, maybe look at linking him to Ciano, either have him being a friend of Ciano's or a friend of a friend. Even though ciano was mussolini's son in law (through marrying edda, the Duce's favorite), he frequently attended or even held parties where the main topics were often about the flaws that had developed in fascism.

hope this helps,

DUCE
