Could someone tell me how British Pows were brought all the way from Tobruk to germany? I have an official report (Canadian Archives) mentionning an English soldier who jumped out of a train near Orleans, France and was hidden by a farmer. His name is Sgt Mark Albert. Any information on this man would be welcome too.

Most of the Allied soldiers captured in Nth Africa went by ship from Tobruk, Bengazi or Tripoli to Greek or Italian ports.

POW Camps were in Italy, Greece as well as the spread of Camps across Germany & Poland.

Thanks Ali, I suppose some of them went to Italy by ship and then to Germany by train. I am surprised that the soldier I mentionned was not on the traditionnel routes (unless trains used the Free zone in France prior to november 1942, which would also surprise me)
