Decided, after 9 years in a box, to build my 1/72nd scale Maus. In those years I have lost all forms of instructions. Does anyone have any scale drawings of the Maus???? Gonna surprise my friend who plays Russians when he visits for a game...
That would be fantastic! The poor beast is in bits at the moment! I have also lost both gun barrells! So need the plans for the length and diameter! How I managed to lose them I will never know! Thanks alot matey, the sun will shine on the Japanese Empire! Will also email you my masters if thats ok, will post it tonight!
If it gets finished!!! GOt the turret together, but missing the barrels and part of the mantlet... Its not goin to be as easy as I first thought!
I will forward a picture of the plans to you in the next day or two from work (the scanner there is better as is the e-mail for attaching pictures). Yes, do send a copy...
Its built and in the garage for an undercoat... Anyone got any opinions on what colour to paint it??? I was gonna do it in sand yellow (Dunkel Gelb) but that seems a bit boring now... Was wondering about doing it in just its red oxide primer... straight from the factory! What you lot think???
pretty sure I have posted this link before but........... http://freespace.virgin.net/shermanic.firefly/maus.htm
How about modelling Maus vs TOG 2... I noticed Martin had at least once mentioned this version... http://www.nelmes.fsnet.co.uk/paxman/paxtanks.htm TOG 2 has survived and is now on display in the Tank Museum at Bovington, still with its TP engine. The heaviest tank in the museum, it weighs 80 tons, is 33' 3" long, 10' 3" wide, and 10' high. Designed for a crew of six, it had a maximum speed of 8½ mph. http://www.tankmuseum.co.uk/visfaq3.html
Nice imaginary pics of Maus in action... The next tank version was "Rat" or was it? http://www.bloodstone-press.com/1948/Sightssounds.html If the allied invented a tank against it would be called "Cat"?
