Swedes did a great job with Bulgaria 5-0....

Italy and Danmark, well, you guessed it! 0-0...

But something special tonight as Holland and Germany play against each other!!! Must get a couple of beers with this one!

Have an opera concert to-night… won't be able to watch the match… :(

(And I just want to clarify something: I watch the matches because of soccer, not to see men in shorts…)

    Wow!

That was a very entertaining footie evening!

First Latvia playing great counterattack football and Czechs jsut won with 2-1.

Then a great game between Germany and Holland ending 1-1 which was a good result. Ruud´s goal was excellent! But mostly I was surprised that Germany showed some real talent here and played like they were going to get far, again??
Was is Schweinsteiger or what his name, the new youngster, he was looking very good for the German side!

Well, After watching the France/England game and the Italy/Denmark match, I'd say it's a toss up. Sure, Italy should be a shoe in, but I think Czech might surprise some people.

Easily though, the France/England game is the most entertaining one I've seen so far.

    Viva Italia!

    Hmmm.

I´m happy that there are so many exciting games, and every day by this far of the tournament.

The Greeks pulled level last night against Spain which was rather a surprise in the end but they deserved it, I think.

Now the Russians are out so it´ll be interesting to see that Spain and Portugal will play for knocking each other out of the tournament...!!??

Today it is interesting to see if Owen can make things better or is it time to change the attacker for good???

I personally couldn't care less if Toti played or not. He's been usless lately anyways, and he thinks he's too good. With him out of the way it'll put more pressure on players like Vierri to step it up a notch.

Today was a fairly good day in the cup.

England stays alive with a 3-0 match against Switzerland

And Croatia pulls a draw with France

..with the Croats had put Klasnic in though...

Yeah. ROONEY!!! lol. Putting all the older players to shame. He did get a yellow card though. Switzerland had a few chances though.

Didnt watcht the France/Croatia game, but am disappointed. At least they gave up those two goals early in 2nd half. Was the penalty a good/bad call?

Yep, Rooney shows the lot how to play some football...

Totti got a three-game-ban for spitting...

Did not watch the Croatia France match either.

    Thanx CvM!!

Last night was again quite full of surprise! Holland leading 2-0 ansd lost 3-2 to Czechs...

I somehow felt the referee was a bit against the Dutch or was it just bad luck? No penalty, then Davids hitting the post and then a man off the pitch as Nedved fell...Beautiful goals by the Czechs though..

Tonight it might be either Spain or Portugal out of the competition...Expecting some excellent football tonight!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

This is the best joke I've ever heard in the last weeks!

Why does soccer world cups exist for and there are no basketball, baseball or football world cups?

Because the US would always win. Soccer World Cups exist for one reason: everyone invites the US so 3rd world countries can kick its ass easily. [IMG]

Come on, most Americans don't even know what soccer is… Maybe they'll win one world cup some time, after they fill their team with Brazilian and Argentinian immigrants! :D [IMG]

Fried - America pretty much started Basketball, Baseball, and Football, which when you compare it to most other sports, havent been around very long and other countries havent really picked up on it yet. There are a few Europeans in Basketball now (give them 20 years and those countries will start to have some reasonably good national teams) and if you have ever seen European Football - well, enough said. People who dont make the NFL go over there, but the matches are soo lop-sided it isnt even funny. And the Japanese are the only ones who could rival the americans in Baseball. Soccer is an international sport - every country plays it and have for over 100 years. More people in the world are more interested with soccer then other american sports. Take the bar i go to to watch the games - my area has a lot of Brits in it (came over here to coach etc) and they all show up (and get rowdy when england plays - no wonder English fans are called Hooligans).
