    Great game by Manchester United

Nemanja Vidic, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov struck as Manchester United put in a terrific performance to beat Chelsea 3-0 at Old Trafford.

    Osasuna-Barcelona 2-3

Great goal by Messi 5 minutes from the end....

Zenit St Petersburg star Andrei Arshavin has indicated he would be interested in a January move to Arsenal as the two clubs haggle over a fee.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with the Russia forward and reports over the weekend suggested they have already had one bid - of around £10million - turned down by his current employers.

Arshavin is keen to leave Zenit in this month's transfer window and Arsenal are believed to be leading the chase for the Russia international, though Manchester City have also been linked with a swoop for him.

And the 27-year-old believes he would be well suited to Arsenal as they play a similar style of football to Zenit.

Arshavin is quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying: "In some games last season, we played football which was very similar to that of Arsenal."

Arsenal appear to be on the brink of signing Zenit St Petersburg's Andrei Arshavin after the Russian admitted "a final decision" was close.

The announcement from Arshavin's club, posted on their official website, suggests a fee has been agreed for the midfielder who caught the eye for his country during the European Championships last summer.

"The fundamental understanding over the transfer of the player is achieved between the clubs," read the statement. "At the moment the basic obstacle in realisation of the transaction is Andrei Arshavin's personal requirements."

Arshavin is waiting for the "final decision" over his move.

"I'm waiting for a final decision," Arshavin told Russian newspaper Sport Express.

"The talks don't depend on me. I haven't been in touch with the club management, so I haven't heard a clear 'yes' or 'no' yet."

Finally! Read an article about this this morning. You'd think that if the player wants to move (which he does) it would have happened much earlier in the week!

At any rate, here is to hoping he performs as expected!

Arsene Wenger is unsure if Arsenal will sign Andrei Arshavin before the transfer window closes but insists: "It doesn't worry me either way."

The deal will be concluded one way or another by close of business on Monday and there were reports Arshavin had flown to London on Saturday.

Wenger denied those reports, adding: "Nothing is happening - maybe, maybe not. It doesn't worry me either way.

"We are not far away and we have a bit of time now until Monday night. We will see what we can do in the next 24 hours.

Good to see Torres is back. Just love the guy´s ability to score. I´d love to see the Spanish Joaquin doing the right midfield...a hint for Benitez here...

Some news: Goalkeeper Shay Given left Newcastle for cash-rich, but success-starved, Manchester City on Sunday....we´ll see what happens today before the 1700GMT transfer deadline. Keane back to Tottenham? And the Spurs win 5 million there for selling him for 20 and buying back for 15....

    Oops?!!

Talks between Arsenal and Andrei Arshavin are reported to have collapsed, with the Zenit St Petersburg playmaker destined for a London airport.

Arshavin, who starred for his country at Euro 2008, flew into England over the weekend ahead of final negotiations.

He was also expected to undergo a medical but it now appears as though Arsenal could miss out on his signature, with the player having left his London hotel and now heading for the airport.

It is believed that Arsenal are reluctant to meet the 27-year-old's wage demands, even though Wenger feels he could bring a new dimension to his side's attack.

Striker Robbie Keane has completed his return to Tottenham after six months at Liverpool, with the fee starting at £12million.

    -------

"Interesting" that Spurs won 8 million here... sell for 20, buy back for 12 ?!

    ----------

Arshavin´s contract with Arsenal- not sure yet?!!

"....but negotiations continued behind the scenes with the asking price, personal terms and a possible payment from Arshavin to Zenit all mooted as potential sticking points. "

Let´s hope this will not end with a lot of bad blood around...

    And now it´s done!

Zenit St Petersburg confirmed Tuesday that their international midfielder Andrei Arshavin has been signed by Arsenal.

"Both clubs have managed to complete the deal. Arshavin will play for Arsenal from now on," Alexei Petrov, a spokesman for Zenit told Russian television.

Petrov added that Zenit received much more money than 12 million pounds, which Arsenal announced on Monday, refusing however to disclose the final value of the deal.

"The conditions of the contract are very favourable for Zenit," Petrov said. "The value of the deal is much more than 12 million pounds."

On Monday sources at the Premier League side announced that Arshavin had joined the north London club till June 2012.
