Im glad that bill is dead--it should put the fear of losing their next elections-to those who supported it. The and were defeated by the masses--such as:

Dogs of the world! -- Unite!

If it wasn't for all this amnesty business, I'd vote for McCain in '08. And I'm really disappointed in Bush. I support him on the majority of issues but this is one issue where we must part ways.

You hit the nail on the head too Bro. When Georgie was Guv, you KNEW he was going to do as he said. I wanna know what the F... happened when he got into the much bigger office? I can hear it now--was bought out by BIG Oil, BIG Medicine and BIG God knows what? It has all of us perplexed?

 

I'm not American but I live in Texas. Maybe it's my German background, but if there is one thing I can't abide it is illegality. Law and order are the bedrock of any nation. That's why the saying "what don't you understand about illegal" resonates so strongly with me. I have nothing against immigration but I have everything against illegality. It drives me up the wall to hear people insist on calling illegal aliens "undocumented migrants". That's akin to saying that a thief is simply a person in possession of goods without a sales receipt. These people broke the law when they crossed the border illegally.

My solution: build the fence (which can be done, easily) and refuse to grant any consessions to illegal immigrants. Enforce laws against hiring illegals. I work in Mexico and Central America so I know these people of latin background. I don't blame them for crossing the border and trying to get jobs here. (Their home countries are basket cases, for the most part.) They're good folks and love their families. And it is their love of family that solves the illegal problem for the US. Allow the illegals to freely cross back into Mexico but make it impossible for them to get jobs here in the States. If you cut off the incentive they'll leave and go back to their families. And, if they see their brethren who went through the proper migration channels and got jobs in the US legally, then they'd have double incentive to return to Mexico and migrate legally.

Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.
