Does anyone know what happened to Stevin and his website, Basher82? I noticed the link to his website is not working. I sent him an email a while back, but have not yet received a reply. I hope he and his lovely wife are OK. Five-Zero-Nan
Stevin has posted several links but some of us (including myself) can't get to his site, possibly because our I.P. numbers rejects the address. stevin said he was working on the link , but that was several weeks ago. If I remember correctly, here must be a thead on the forum telling who could get to it and who couldn't.
These two threads may provide your answer . http://www.ww2f.com/counter-battery-fire/18571-open-request-assistance-2.html http://www.ww2f.com/free-fire-zone/18772-congratulations-stevin-welcome-eden-neale.html (cross posted with Skipper, sorry) Cheers, Adam.
Thank you sir. That explains it. Little ones must always take priority over websites and discussion forums. Still, I hope to hear from Stevin. If I do, I will let everyone here know how he and the family are doing. Five-Zero-Nan
Stevin is around, but the issue with his website is that he runs it off his home computer. Large internet routers tend to block such small domains because they are often sources of spam email. This is obviously not the case with Stevin, but it seems his IP has been tossed with the bathwater. I'm sure having twins has put a serious crimp into his online time as well.:thumbsuck::thumbsuck:
Thanks everyone, I'll just be patient, and wait until I hear from Stevin. I've tried several different methods to get onto his website, but it just won't come up. Maybe he will get the time someday soon to move it to a server somewhere. Five-Zero-Nan
Otto summed it up in his last sentance, Stevin is being a very very busy dad right now besides his studies. His bride is busier than one can imagine. my last note from him was over 3 weeks ago
Hi everyone, I am sorry to have been away for so long. My server finally gave out about two months ago, and due to the kids, a new job, holiday and financial priorities, I haven't been able to do much about it till a few days ago, when I got a new server! Although this one is faster, bigger, etc. it still doesn't solve all the access problems, so I am moving the site to a new domain, which I hope will be done within two weeks. But I have now again access to internet and email, much to the chagrin of my wife. I am going through my 6.000+ emails (98% spam, however) and will start work on my site shortly too... And I hope to come back here regularly and post. Going "cold turkey" is not all that it is cracked up to be Five-One-Nan, good to see you here!!!! I look forward to your contributions here! I am sure you will be a great asset to the site!~ Stevin
Stevin, obviously you've been focussing on trivial things rather than important stuff like the WWII forums ! But seriously, it's good to see you here again and I hpe that things are going OK with you and your family....
welcome back friend and as Martin rightly pointed out ...........hey where are your priorities ?? Christa and the kids are ok ? E ~ ♫
Stevin, Good to hear from you. I guess I won't be posting much here for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was the razing I got from a couple of the others a while back. I tried my best to give them an overview of how things were really done when running into ambushes or meeting engagements with the bigger German tanks and TDs. One of them actually told me that his video game was more accurate than my description, and if I tried my stuff I would get killed. Can you imagine that? I don't have any idea what he's talking about, and have little interest now in trying to correct him. Later I talked with one of my buddies, a tank ace who killed three MkIVs one foggy morn in the space of about one minute, about what I wrote, and the reaction I got. After we had a good chuckle, he got kind of serious, and said it was a damn shame that no one wants to know how things were really done. He had a similar story in which he gave a little talk at the high school in his home town several years ago, and some kid made a reference to a video game that he thought was really the thing. Now the younger folks get their WWII information from video games, TV, and books by people who weren't there, and seem to think its just like the real deal. Anyway, stay in touch, and don't hesitate to let me know if you need anymore help concerning the division. You can always get me through the Association website, and they will forward the email to me. Best wishes to you, your wife, and your new family, Shoot-- I just remembered that I emailed you a while back and told you about this. Sorry. Five-Zero-Nan
