Graphical Enhancements for HOI2

Hello everyone,

I would just like to introduce myself to your forum. I am a member/moderator of a forum that specialises in the graphical enhancement of HOI2, Doomsday and Armageddon.

We have some very talented members who have completely remodeled the sprites and graphical interface of the game.

I have attached a few examples of the sprites.

Please have a look and let me know what you think.

At the moment there are 15 Mods for Doomsday/Armageddon available and 12 for HoI2.

This is a dual language forum in both English and German, please feel free to look around.

Nice. I think I saw images of this on a forum a while ago. I'll have to check with Grofaz Otto since plan on playing MP together - i imagine using the mods means you can only play w/ people with the same mods installed?

Hi Mussolini,

The only important thing that you need to check is that you have the same checksum.

This appears in the top right hand corner of the main menu screen ie FDYY.

The mods that only modify the pictures ie brigades, ministers etc do not change the checksum so you can install, or not, any of those.

The large sprite pack 10.01 does change the checksum because it has a new modified country.csv file attached.

Version 10.0 does not change the checksum so one of you can have this installed and the other MP player does not have to.

As long as you both check the checksum before you start your game there are no problems.

We have a small MP section on our forum and the players have never experienced any issues.

Hi Hawkeye,

All the DMP mods are save as winzip archives.

Open the archive and double click on the setup.exe file.

Follow the on screen instructions.

The default directory is selected for you:

C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday

If you have installed to a different directory just select your chosen directory.

You always select the main game directory.

It is pretty self explanatory once you start the process.

I don't know if that is the source that was used.

The graphics are all created by the guy who started our forum - Gepard.

He is very talented with graphics and has spent over 9000 hours creating all these beautifull sprites etc.

The work is ongoing with new sprites always in production.

I will post more examples if you are all interested.

Please come over to our forum and have a look. I do not want to steal members from this forum. I have joined your forum to show you what we have but also to hopefully participate here as well.

You can do the same. We have two sections on the forum. One German language and one English language.

The forum is not just about HOI we discuss anything military plus many other subjects.

As here, new members are always welcome.

If you try out our mods please let us know what you think. We also welcome any suggestions on how to improve our work.

Will this work for normal HOI2?

 

Great idea and all, but I actually like HOI just as it is. It has that 'old' look to it, and I like that.

Yes it will work for normal HOI2.

There are seperate DMP mods for HOI2 & HOI2 DD.

Look on the site under the downloads section.

That "old" look is just fine.

I have not installed all the mods myself. I pick and choose the ones i want.

 

Is there a complete Mod for HOI II DD? Or do i have to install each mod seperately? I like all the images/previews i've seen so want the new sprites etc. The ones that change unit icons too.

 

I downloaded the German, Russian, and English mods and I must say that I am very impressed with the work these guys have done. Thanks for posting this hart.

You have to download each DMP mod seperately.

This way you can choose which to install and which not to.

I know there are 16 files, but we think it is better this way.
