And I suppose as a soccer fan, Ducetta's favourite soccer team is… let me guess… Italy? Smell some bias here… By the way, one of my non-WWII passions and specialities is the Roman Empire too!
LoL. Well of course I love Italy...but being raised in my household, if you don't like Italy you don't exist LOL. I like Germany and Czech as well Friedrich... DUCE
Love Italy too; what reminds me of a very good movie-quote: Harry Lime (Orson Welles): "In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michellangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!" "The Third Man" (1949), directed by Carol Reed, written by Graham Greene & Alexander Korda.
I suppose I should love Italy as well with a name of Castelli on mum's side. Visted florence which was charming but much too rushed and got a birds eye view of Roma as we flew out and into but had to sit for over 9 hrs at the Roma air-port waiting for the Royal Jordanian airline to attach the undercarriage wheels back on their jet before we took off.........crazy things back in 1980 and things you just don't forget. Time to reminisce, my brother was ill for 1/2 of the 20 day trip and when we flew out of Roma a big burly Jordanian steward decided foolishly to raise my brothers seat as we was laying down resting. My brother unbuckled his seat and jumped the steward(my brother is no small fry), and proceeded to scare the crap out of the mid-eastern getn by closing his hands around his neck. Evryone was so still and so tired from unrest that the guys both backed off as in slow motion, the steward going back to the rear of the plane to the kitchen and my brother smiling and causally sitting back in his lowered seat. All sur-real and very strange. There was no more to the incident. sorry for the ramble ......

These were literally 1000's, working for the different armed forces and magazines, etc. and I am trying to compile a list that I can work with.
This pertains to a different war, but it will probably be of interest to those who are interested in the work of frontline photographers: DefendAmerica.mil: Military Photographers on the Frontlines.

As far as my WWII interests go, if it flew, I'm interested in it. If it flew in RAF markings, I'm even more interested.
I would have to say weapons definetly as my number one including distribution as well as manufacturing and use. Second would probably be D-Day and all details that pertains. I love all the intricacies it has and goes throughout the day.
