Very interesting. I don't know why, but it always seems odd to me to be watching World War 2 footage in colour.
I know what you mean. Color puts a little bit more life into the war which we are used to seeing in black and white.
Nice. Seen a few bits before but never quite so much joined together. The music makes a pleasant change from the usual middle of the road soft-rock or German marching songs too. Cheers, Adam.
Moving , very moving. Those Russian lads lying dead face down in the soil, they were the lucky ones. Death was quick for them, I hope. Not the long slow suffering painful death of those in captivity. Just seeing those prisoners and thinking how many of them would starve to death, be beaten and shot and then if ever libertated have to face the NKVD made for rather sad viewing. Seeing those houses burn, wonder how many women and children were in those burning wrecks? I can imagine , knowing what the Germans did , there would be a few. Although I can't support the muderous regeme of Stalin and his croneies, the Soviet people didn't deserve the evil that was unleashed on them in 1941. Seeing the smiling, smug Germans not knowing what was about to happen over the next four years. I wonder how many of those survived?
Thanks guys... But I must agree, it makes one wonder as to how many survived the horrendous ordeal. Statistically not very many at all.
Something about seeing it in color makes it seem less distant. Film will never accurately capture the gruesome environment of a battlefield, but seeing it in color makes it that much more "real". Thanks for sharing.
I can't help but to think about the sufferings of the Iraqi men, women, and most of all, children. Apparently the monopolies in this country don't care if their money is made at the cost of the blood of innocent people. This is how the United States defines democracy? This so called “democracy” is a convent excuse to justify this robbery of oil and national sovereignty. To the monopolies, it is only a number on their income statement. But to the Iraqis, the hopeless, defenseless Iraqi children......... They have just as much right to live this GOD-given life as everyone else do.
Great footage. Makes you realize that it really was not all that long ago. The soundtrack from Last of the Mohicans was a nice touch as well.
