Finnish radiostation YLE announced that a secredly taped conversation between Hitler and Carl Gustav Mannerheim has been found. The conversation was secretly taped by a Finnish soundman of the Finnish radio, when Hitler visited Mannerheim on 4 June 1942, in a trainwagon near the Finnish/Russian border. http://www.yleradio1.fi/zgo.php?z=20041008162474130666
Nothing new. See the transcript of the accidental conversation, posted in 1998: http://www.wargamer.com/articles/bdvisit2.asp Cheers,
bugger....So I spent four and a half hours with a Finnish-English dictionary for nothing??? I wonder why Kai never mentioned this! Just my luck... Thanks for pointing it out, Andy!
wow, i love it when you can get a chance to read war-time conversations between leaders. THanks much for this post Steven and AndyW now, those arent their actual voices in that recording, right?
Stevin, really? A Finnish dictionary? Wow, that´s incredible!!! Actually I did mention about this a while back ( a year ago or something ) but cannot find the page now... Anyway, it´s good to have this topic shown every now and then as it is the only piece of recording showing how Hitler speaks during small talk and several actors have used this recording to learn it.
The hilarious part is that, despite the relatively small conversation pieces from Hitler, you can STILL pick up the fact that he is egotistically full of himself. I'm not fluent in German, but can tell his dialogue is somehow hate-filled, giving in to the long-standing sterotypes. We were right after all............
