To make it a bit easier and to expand on the other movies topics. I was wondering what your favorite sports movie was. And if you can't list just one-it's okay by me as I can't list just one.

My Nr.1 at this time, is Champion w/ Kirk Douglas and Arthur Kennedy. This is the movie that made Kikr Douglas; a movie star. (Boxing)

Nr.2 Pride of the Yankees w/ Gary Cooper, Walter Brennan, BABE RUTH and Dan Duryea. (Baseball)

Nr.3 Gentleman Jim w/ Errol Flynn and Ward Bond. (Boxing)

Nr.4 Knute Rockne: All American w/ Ronald Reagan and Pat O'Brien. (Football)

Nr.5 The Longest Yard w/ Burt Reynolds. (Football)

It was awful in the best way possible.

I'd have to say SlapShot is the best sports film out there. :hockeypuck:

Hi Skunk.W and all, thanks for listing those others. Most i've heard of but never seen and or did not know they were sports movies, such as: Brian's Song, Teh Last Boyscout and Cutting Edge.

Also, I've seen Victory-when it first came out. I don't really remember much about it except that a Soccer game was played.

The Best of Times, with Robin Williams and Kirk Russell. It came out in 1986 or so. The story was about two has beens who tied the big game in high school back in the old days, and they get the teams together for the replay, to settle who was the best.

I don't know if this one can be classified as an actual sports movie or not? but it has a sort of motorcycle racing in it as well as a sort of discus throwing segment. Anyway-the movie is called: Tron.

Another one I remember and this one I do call a sports movie even though its an animated movie-and was absolutely hilarious-is called: Animalympics-and featured a LOT of funny people as the voices of the characters. In Animalympics-they played Soccer if I remember correctly? ;-))

Does anyone here remember either of these?
