Hey everyone! Well, guess I will tell you a bit about myself. I'm 29 years old, been reading an researching WW2 and military related stuff about 14 years now, work as a security guard, and had two grandfathers who served in the second World War, and an uncle who served in Vietnam. I myself have never served, I never thought I could pass the physical, with my bum knees. I figured this was a good place to talk about one of my passions. I have lived in eastern Kentucky (Harlan County and Letcher County) all my life, and I'm quite accustomed to pistols, rifles, and shotguns. I like to hunt, but it's been a few years, my knees can't handle trodding through the woods like they used to, lol! I like to fish, and do so reguarly. I also like table top war games, especially Warhammer 40k. I play video games on occasion, but most of the time I have my nose stuck in a book. So in closing, I'm glad to be here, and look forward to discussing man's greatest tragedy with you all!

Thanks! Two things, I know little about Australia during the war (I know they helped fight in the CIB theatre, but that's about it, I can't find a lot of literature on Australia's role in the war at the public library) and I love the little Snoopy icon! That makes me want to watch It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! yet again!
Sack Time -- Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here. I am also a new member and am very much enjoying these forums. Cheers!
Wow, I've been checkin the site more, and it really is neat! I'm especially interested in the modeling section. Great stuff!
G'day Sack Time, and welcome There are a few threads on Australians during the war and about small units and what not, so if you feel that you wish to learn more they are there.
Welcome Sacktime. You will learn plenty of things about the Aussies here. I can tell you they fought bravely everywhere. There are some buried just miles away from my hometown (I promised Wessex to get the pictures for him onths ago, just remembeted , oops) . As to the nose art galeries, not yet, but I have a small collection and the designer of our association creates them when he makes WWII A.C. profiles. Feel free to start a thread about this topic Im' sure people will come around.
Yessir, I'll start a noseart thread! I've study a tiny bit about the Aussies, and from what I've seen, their fighting spirit and capablity was as very high. Tough lot, the boys from down under, lol. I actually need to study more on the entire history of the island. Kinda bored with European history right now.
Welcome to the Forum, Sack Time. It's a great place to discuss all aspects of World War II, and many knowledgeable members. I hope you enjoy yourself.
