right after WW2 the russinas took BMW drawings and produced such bikes more or less "under license2 - see bikes named "URAL" or "DNEPR" - lateron the chinese also got those drawings and since then they also produce these bikes ...

is a fun to ride - 32 hp (think the WW2 ones had around 24 or so) with sidecar is quiet funny ...

The bike looks excellent! I can imagine one with a Mg fitted on the side car! Thanks for sharing your pictures and this interesting information.

those bikes are sold here in china for equal fo about 3.800 dollars ...

most of them are used but fully refurbished with new engine and new paintshop ...

is like buying a new bike and even needs to be broken in like all new vehicles ...

i ordered a manual gearshift on side of the gastank like the old BMW´s had - the rig ain´t fast but fun to ride anyway ...

pic was shot when i just got the rig in nov. last year - still with only one sparewheel and the tires with more civilian thread ...

Brilliant. It must be fun to ride these. Will you try to take it back to Europe or would this be to difficult? It's looking great with the second tyre. How did you manage to fix it on top of the other one. Is there a wire to hold it?

off course i will take it with my - crating and shipping to europe doesn´t cost an arm and a leg so no problem!

in germany i can register it as a historic vehicle with special insurance conditions ...

the 2nd wheel is held using a longer centerbolt - easy modification which i saw on some period pics of wehrmacht bicycles ...
