Too many to count, some from when I first started buying books in the 70's. The ones I like most are the old ones, like the pre-war English version of "Uniformen der Deutschen Wehrmacht", which makes reenactors go weak at the knees, or the first edition of Shirers' Berlin Diaries, or my '36 Baedekers "Germany" which you may have noticed I'm still banging on about.

 

Faster to show than count - this is my library 2 years ago, but it's grown some. The far case on the left side is WW I aviation, but the rest is WW II - it's a 45 year addiction.

Mine, is quite small compared to most of you!!

I've taken to using the Internet a lot and corroborating from multiple sites, as well as my or the library's books. Also, watching documentaries. Just don't have the physical library space. Always interested but this year got more serious.

My books are mostly about the Canadian experience in World War II using first person accounts. Still regret that years ago I had the chance to purchase the complete set of Churchill's books but didn't have the funds then....

I have a whole room dedicated to Books , three walls out of four have book shells (about 60 shells divided in ten parts) and the last wall has my desk with computer.

 

I have 4 books total, 5 if you count my wife`s grandfathers Officer`s Guide that is ruined...... All of my other books were destroyed in the flood of 2007

 

I can name a bucnh off the top of my head...
"Stalingrad" (Antony Beevor)
"D-Day" (Stephen Ambrose)
"Citizen Soldiers" (Stephen Ambrose)
"If You Survive" (George Wilson)

Lots more, can't remember all the authors though.

The organisation is inspiring. Great fun picking out the familiar ones too.

I sometimes think books may be a kind of disease. once one gets hold of the first real quality volume you just can't seem to stop...

My other half suggests that crack might be a somewhat cheaper obsession though .

Not half - mine was The Honourable Artillery Company In The Great War ; 10p in a church jumble sale when I was 10.....

 

I've got books. 50 boxes or so, the last time they were packed-up. But not so much WWII. Mostly Sci-fi, and text books, and literature of this or that sort. Extremely varied.

My WWII books are mostly old, though I got Stephen Ambrose's "The Victors" relatively recently. The one's I've had since my teens are well-remembered. Panzer Leader. Stalingrad, by Pliever. The now-falling-apart Tank picture book by Mackesy and Batchelor. Anzio by Blumenson.

But with plenty of library reading, and plenty of wargamming, I've picked up more than a smattering of military history I think....

 

I have been buying or having bought for me, military history books since the age of 10 or so and im know 38. I buy mainly ww2 related books with an emphasis on Arnhem and Burma but also books on ww1, Vietnam, special forces,and of late college and school war service records. Iam forever hunting that next book especially one i dont have on arnhem or burma the satisfaction when i find one is most pleasing

 

1,260 and trying to get an informal appraisal... any ideas?
