I guess I'm not alone! Science will triumph after all :D
So, how do you feel about the latest research which managed to show us that the percentage of Barionic dark matter in the universe is about 4%?? What is your take on gravitational deformations caused by black hole gravitational waves?? Do you believe in Ensemble-men?? Is Schroedinger cat alive and well? Was there even a cat?? Is the quantum computer a never going to happen thing? If someone shoots at you is what are the odds that the bullet will diffract to another place?
    :D:D

    Cheers...

Be careful Miguel, the guys I know who talk about hard science and cats tend to spend a fair amount of time wondering why they never have a date!:D

BTW, for those who want to get a very fundamental overview of modern physics from subatomic to cosmology, take a look at this series by the BBC

Atom - The Clash of the Titans - Part 1

These are quite a few 1 hour programs that trace the thinking that led to the modern theories of physics. (No alcohol before viewing if you want to keep up)

I've been a state trooper here in Louisiana for 27 years, counting suspensions too. Got a couple more to do to get my full pension. Before that, I was a paratrooper in the army for 3 years. Went to LSU for about 12 years and got a history degree while working full time. After I do retire, I plan to be a ski bum in the winter and a beach bum in the summer. If I have a better idea in the meantime, I'll let y'all know.

A-58 -- Thanks for your many years of service! I respect and admire your perseverence in getting your degree. I bet you appreciate it more than many a 4 year grad does!

    Cheers!

I'd ditch the beach and go for the mountains, if anything more beautiful in summer than winter to my mind.

Never quite got the beach thing, as someone pointed out, it is where dirt meats water. Then again beaches over here aren't quite the same.

Thanks dgmitchell, sometimes I still wake up at night worrying about a test that I don't have to take! The original plan was to be a history professor when I grew up. When I do retire, there will be no more guns, badges and uniforms for me!

Hey Stefan, have you ever done the tropical beach thing? Sipping the pina coladas or just soaking up the suds, catching rays, watching the girls in their string bikinis go by, and just making it up as it goes along? You need to try that and see what it's like if you haven't. It's a wonderful way to waste time.

    Thanks again guys.
