Hey Urqh, it would seem as Medic says without a record at Ringway ref jumps and a definate on Fussell or Ramage there is little more to go on, but as you say really intresting I spent 20-30 mins stood in Tesco talking to the guy and I do know he is local and associated with the British Legion locally, but as I said I dont want to enquire at the risk of appearing 'doubtful'

Hi, I am Herb Fussells grandson. Unfortunately Herb is very unwell and will probably not be with us for much longer.
As you are all aware, his times in the army and fighting for his country is something that he is very proud of and takes a lot of pleasure and pride in telling his stories to everyone. It is comforting to know that his stories touched the lives of so many people.
I hope you will all wish him well and if anyone is keen to know more about him or knows him and would like to get in touch then just reply to this and I will try to help.
    Thanks
