Hello, My name is Erich (100% American, forgive the German spelling!), and I am new to this forum. Both of my grandfathers were WWII Vets...my grandfather on my father's side served as an enlisted man in the Marines in the Pacific, and my grandfather on my mother's side was a P-38 Lightning pilot in the MTO. I have created a website which pays tribute to U.S. Military Veterans at www.veterantributes.org, and there are quite a few WWII Vets listed there. Just click the tab that says "View Tributes" and then pick a category. I just finished my 200th tribute on there last night. Blue Skies, -Erich
Welcome, Erich Good job with the Tributes. You've given yourself a huge challenge, but stick with it. Steve W.
Welcome to the Forum, Erich. Great work with your website. I hope you will also enjoy going though the Forum, and finding new stories of other Veterans.
Welcome Erich, good to have you here and I enjoyed your page. We look forward to your posts. No apologies needed. Sounds like a perfectly good name to me, one of our moderators uses that as his username.---> He's on vacation at present.
Yep, 200 tributes made and only a few million more to go! How many people have served in the U.S. Military since 1775? By the way, just for everyone's information, the Veteran Tributes website is completely non-profit and does not generate any income...I don't even ask for donations! I felt that a non-commercial website pays honor to their service more, so I financed everything myself. -Erich
Erich -- Welcome! You are doing a fine thing with your tribute site. Many thanks for sharing it with us! Cheers!
No problemo with the German names! I'm part German myself, although I wasn't born there. Welcome to the Forum! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!!
No need to be ashamed by your heritage (if you are German)...it's such a shame that Hitler has given Germans a bad name for eternity... Welcome...and what a wonderful website! Keep it going! Lisa
My father was in the REME in WW2. Any relation of a vet that served against the Wehrmacht or the Japs is welcome! LOL! Martyn.
