Hallo!Do anyone knows any strange, unknown events of WW2.Well, here's one:In October 1943 Monty accepted a five-pound bet from Eisenhower that the war in Europe would have finished during 1944.In 16 of December 1944 Monty sent a letter to Eisenhower requesting the payment of the symbolic amount!
I dont know any unknown stories. But Ike should have known better, in late 42 he had abet with Monty about the time it would take to capture Sfax in southern Tunisia. Monty won and demanded the B17 & Crew be delivered ASAP.
Well Za Rodinu, you are right but they were unknown before i tell them to you and they remain unknown before someone read them.it's not my intention to keep them unknown, but to share them! Ali that i didn't you.Propably Monty liked bets...! Here's another one:The first hours of the offence in Ardennes an American commander of a company who was hitting by artillery, called the commanding station of the batallion to tell that the Germans maybe moving towards the station. He was answered by someone with German accent:"We are already here!"
My old man (and buddies) pulled up behind a French truck having a hard time up a hill, (with their "jeep"), and stood on the hood and liberated 2 cases of wine. Unknown by most until now.
