How many divisions did you have on the Russian front? As well as the number of Romanian Divisions? Are the Romanians under your military control, or waging their own war? Joe: Judging by your strategic map there, it appears you did the same thing I did and avoided the conflict between Germany and the norther countries of norway and Denmark, what was your reasons for that? Mine were because I didn't feel the 'pincer movment' was required to take Britain, I didn't want to risk my little navy in a silly move against the RN, and the Aircraft I had at the time really had no use for the bases in Norway. Also how did you get across the enlgihs channel, did you have all those carriers by then? I actually still had the same navy that you begin with, with my channel crossing. I made a quick and daring raid acrosss the channel with my entire navy and around 21 Mixed armoured, motoerised and infantry divisions experienced from the polish war, the RN just never showed up. lucky me.
I forgot to load up Fraps last time I played, so no screenies yet. I might call of Barbarossa, the Russians are just to powerul. I might go for America instead. Getting some nukes as well. (it's 1947). The 18 divisions I sent to India did very well. Tomcat, I got across the channel by paratrooping Plymouth (The Brits had it defened by a single div), then ferrying my troops across. I wiped out part of the RN as can be seen in my earlier screenies. And I just can't be bothered going north. Nothing really valuable there. I think I might end this AAR. I've pretty much won, the Axis now has over 600 VPs.
What nation did I lead? I was Romania and I had let the Germans handle themselves and they were doing so very nicely. I originaly had a a force of 38 divisions halfway across SU helping Germany take it over but they got encircled and totally destroyed by a large Russian army group. About Turkey: I had invaded Yugoslavia earlier in the game to try to seize a port to build a navy as the Germans wouldnt invade Britain but my good friends in Italy had also attacked with me and seized all their Med coast provinces. So I put my veiw towards Turkey thinking that my small army of now 15 divisions (Militia,Infantry 41) and Germans from the Urals could lead to a rapid conquest but I forgot that Turkey would likely defect to the Allies who had around 50 divisions south of Turkey. So like an idiot I declared war and that led to the fall of the Bulgars and then an invaison of Romania.
Hmm. Yes, bad thing to do! Two campaigns ago, Turkey Declared war on my for no apparent reason. So it was their fault they got annexed! Then I declared war on Persia and linked up with Japan coming from India.
Decided to do a bit more. It's 1950 and I have just launched Operation Amerika, yes you guessed it, I have just invaded the USA! (Actually getting that beachead was very difficult, the single American garrison division put up quite a fight. I had four marine divs and eight infantry. And a HQ. Even with massive fire support from my entire fleet)
It is pretty much the same as my last screenshots, except I now control Yugoslavia, Africa is swinging back and forth due to me not being bothered to fight there, America has some islands off the Japanese, and China is at peace with us. Tommorrow I will get some shots for you.
So are you at peace with USSR? Or do you just have a large border guard there because if you had America's economy you could more then afford a Blitzkreig in Russia. psst. America is always lightly guarded.
I used almost no navy for my invasion of England. Had basically complete air superiority over England. Fighting mostly an airwar while moving most of my divisions east. With UK's airforce almost non existant I attacked ports and IC with V1's and bombers. Constant patrols of large numbers of Fleet Destroyer naval bombers increased the hurt to the RN. Eventually landed on english shores with about 12 divisions in unescorted troop transports. Maybe a bit of luck and the UK was just treading water. I like the idea of Poland declaring war on Germany. I'd be happy to leave Poland alone as Germany, but I have to get to Russia and Poland is just in the way.
Wait...if you took Britain where in the world are the American ships coming from? As good as our navy was, the thousands of miles to Europe cannot be covered. Did you already DOW Spain? Or are they in Gibraltar? Why don't you invest troops into taking the Rock? It would go a long way to stopping the Americans. How about Scandinavia? Not resource or IC rich but easily taken. One thing I did once was to fortify my border with the Soviet Union, using key points of fortifications. Then I went to America first, and utilized all that IC. Especially with Navy gone it was a breeze to take down Russia afterward. I only ran low on manpower. Of course that was on easy difficulty though.
