rugby union.i played flanker, open or blindside, good thing punching the enemy hooker in the chopsknock his teeth out.never had helmets like the yanks do,too soft.cheers.
I recently got a staph infection from wrestling. (4-1 this season so far) The things we go through for the sports we love
Freshman basketball 2007-2008. PG. Benchwarmer this year on junior varsity. No. 2 Singles on my high school tennis team. Did track and field last year as a 100m and 200m, but i chose tennis this year (same season)
I am very good at endurance, especially 1000 meters and other distances up to 10.000 meters. Age is taking it's toll , but depsite many years of parties, I can stil run the 1000 meter in less than 3 minutes . It's very useful when the kids come home with their school results and try to hide away.
Used to be a very avid bowler in high school, good enough to make it to the national youth training pool but the other guys and gals there were definitely more consistent in their game than me. I still play occasionally but not as often as I like because of work. Skydiving when our jump master is able to scrounge up a plane and when the weather cooperates. I still run every other day because running away is a skill that I want to maintain. Recently took a Discover Scuba diving trip and it piqued my interest. That's something to do when there's no plane available to jump from.
Scuba diving? That's something I have always wanted to do . Do you observe, or do you also catch fish ?
Anybody into Snooker? My best break ain“t so big 37 or 38, but I just love the game! When I started watching Snooker Stephen Hendry was 17.... Oops!
I screwed up my feet as a youth, breaking my right foot twice and my left foot once (or vice versa, I can't keep it straight anymore) once each in three straight years so I never played varsity sports, but prior to that I was fairly athletic and played football, basketball, baseball and tennis. If my wheels wouldn't have been so bad I would probably have made varsity in any of those I would have chosen. (Not that big a deal because we were a really small school and pretty much anyone who went out made football and tennis & there were very few rejects for basketball and baseball). I did end up on the varsity track team throwing discus and shot. Now I play golf once in a blue moon and a little pick up basketball, but mainly I am helping train my nephew, who has a very good shot at winning the indoor state title in shot put in 3 weeks time as a Junior. He's won 5 of the 6 meets he's entered so far this season and is already throwing very close to 50 feet with 2 full outdoor seasons to go & has several schools talking scholarships for both track and football with his parents!
Much of my childhood was spent every weekend tearing it up on the soccer field. I miss it, playing with my friends as a team... played soccer until I was in High School, then switched to Golf. Love the game of Golf! I played all through high school, and haven't quit since. The weather in CO is sure warming up nice. Time to get the ol' sticks out of the closet and hit the links! Nav
I didn't play much sports in school. Too small and too slow. I play golf (badly) now, and spent 30 years coaching soccer. Everything from 6 year olds to high school to young adults. Quit doing that when I retired. I still like to watch my grandchildren play, both soccer and baseball.
I was part of a travel soccer team in NY and I was part of something called the Iron Wall on defense. Our season of 20 games ended with 13 of them being shutouts. That was in my younger days. Now I play roller hockey and absolutely love the sport!!
Swimming, basketball, track, and weight training. I had the most talent at weight training thanks to my wide frame and relative ease in putting on muscle. I was a poor sprinter and a mediocre long distance runner. In basketball, I could shoot accurately...but was too average in height to do anything else very effectively.
