Hi I need some help to find out about my father-in-laws war service in Burma, his name was Charles Henry Howlett and he was a duty sergeant in the Royal Berks regiment ( Warwick ) he was called up on 19th Feb 1942 and his army number was 14204249. Below is the only photo we have of him sitting on his bike, we dont know the passenger, we believe Charlie may have been a dispatch rider? We would love to know which medals he would have received as they went missing many years ago, if possible we would like to get replacements. Any help you could give would be great. many thanks.

Hi all been a long time since I first posted for help but we now have Charlies Service Records, but they are a bit vague on what he was up to, but we now know he was in the 9th battalion Royal Berkshire Reg from 19 /02/1942 and then posted to Deolali in India and he also went to Parbatipur and was involved in operation Python, the writing on the forms is very hard to read but this seems to be all the info we have, if anyone has any info that we could add to this we would be very grateful, many thanks
I would hope you get some more answers from some of our British members. In the meantime, you might want to post at our sister site, WW2talk.com. They are much more British/European oriented, and you might get more answers there, as well.
