Sometime in late March or early April, business will take me to Dallas. I plan to drive down to Houston to see my sons there too. I hope to swing over to Austin and then up to Abilene before returning to Dallas to fly back to "Merryland, Land of Political Enchantment". If any Texas rogues along the route are willing and able, lets have a face to face over beer and brisket!
I'm right across town from Lias-i'm about 2 or so miles outside Katy city limits. Give me a shot if you can and I wouldn't mind paying for a dinner but my only catch is that I don't have a car at this time and someone would have to swing by to give me a lift ;-)) The best way to my N/Hood is going down HYW 6? and getting off on Barker-Cypress. Head down that street till you get to Keith Harrow, then turn on K/H and go till you see the traffic lights on Wind Song Trail-tun on WST-keep going up the strasse till you pass the first street-which will be to your right and is a cul-de-sac-go to the next street and make a right turn and follow it continusly around the "Horseshoe" and you will see my home on the right side of the road.
I live near Austin and we can take in the Camp Mabry museum. It is free and has a few aircraft but mostly armor. Lots of displays and lots of models and diaramas. Brigadier General John C. L. Scribner Texas Military Forces Museum If you come on a week end we can go south approx 30 miles and see the CAF wing in San Marcos. They have a P-40, P-39. B-25, and lots of trainers and support aircraft. Let me know and I would love to meet you !
Also San Antonio is approx. 70 miles south of Austin and they have the Texas air museum that has a real Fw-190 and other aircraft at Stinson Field plus Lackland Air Force Base that has alot of aircraft on display. Texas Air Museum - San Antonio, TX
