Folks, Not sure if this is the right place for this but anyway..... I'm looking for any information (books, links etc.) that anyone has regarding the technical aspects of jamming centimetric radar. I allready have an EEI publication that breifly covers German WW2 ground based jamming of H2s using barrage nosie jamming, but I am specifically interested in how aircraft jam centimetric radar systems i.e. a hostile bombing force confronting centriemtric radar equipped nighfighters, AA radars and some GCI/General surveilance radars. The majority of this information probaly relates to the early cold war period I know and I'm having difficulty in finding accurate information from which I can generate 1st principle assumptions. I know that due to the narrower beam size a centimetric radar suffers less from chaff than does a metric set, but i'd like to get a handle on the fundamentals of jamming of centimetric radars (what worked and why, what does not work and equally why it does not work). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Sbiper.
Sbiper do you know about the SES web-site run by Michael ? if not let me hunt down his URL, his site is incredible
I have here COMINCH P-08, Radar Bulletin NO. 1a (RADONE A) The Capabilities and Limitations of Shipborne Radar (July, 1945). It has a section on jamming. Did you have specific questions?
Any information you have with regards to how to jam a centimetric radar set would be appreciated i.e. is chaff useless and do you need to rely on noise jammers, and do you use omnidirectional noise jammers or jammers just focused in the direction of the emmitting radar. Sbiper.
I'll fish the data out for you today. I also have RADAR BULLETIN NO. 3 (RADTHREE) RADAR OPERATOR'S MANUAL (NAVPERS 16135) 18 April, 1945. I'll check that one as well.
Here are a couple of google searches with a lot of hits radar ecm and eccm - Google Search= radar countermeasures - Google Search and of course there's always the old crows Electronic Warfare Simulation and Training
worth a look slowly ............ GYGES Publishing Company take the left link on the front page ~ research
Allready know of this site and I've made use of its resources extensively, however it does not exactly match what I'm looking for. Sbiper
