Here's some more WW2 films release dates TBA... Flying Tigers: Flying Tigers (TBA) Movie Based on the volunteer fighter squadron formed to help the Chinese fight the Japanese before the U.S. entered World War II. The Long Green Shore: The Long Green Shore (TBA) Movie Set in mid-1945 after V-E Day, but before the fall of Japan, this is the story of an Australian battalion sent to New Guinea to force the beleaguered Japanese to retreat - however the enemy troops will fight to the very end. Indianapolis: Indianapolis (2009) Movie During World War II, the U.S.S. Indianapolis is sunk by a Japanese sub following a secret mission to deliver materials for the atomic bomb that will be dropped on Hiroshima. The men float for five days in the Philippine Sea and only 317 of an estimated 900 who abandoned ship are pulled from the shark-infested waters. The Dirty Dozen: The Dirty Dozen (2009) Movie A major enlists twelve condemned soldier-prisoners for a dangerous mission. A modern update on the 1967 actioner that starred Lee Marvin as a major who conscripts twelve condemned soldier-prisoners for a dangerous mission in WWII.
I read that they are remaking Missing in Action with a wrestler in the title role. Chuck Norris played Colonel Braddock in three MIA movies. I also remember watching a movie about the Indianapolis. Stacy keach played the captain of the doomed ship. David Caruso also was in it as an officer who is drowned by his own crew due to the fact they are drinking salt water.
I see that Tom Cruise is slated to appear in Flying Tigers. Is he trying to become like Tom Hanks and focused on WWII?
Iron Sky :: Official Movie Site nazis on the moon! see trailer, not due for release until early next yr,but interesting! and nice change to standard nazi ww2 as is..any thoughts as to how? or what? it will do box office wise!
Better watch out for using the Come Here Boy and Good Boy lines-you might be considered racist by the idiot PC crowd. I was considered a racist one time when I was at a WalMart in Houston. This was all because after waiting appx 45 minutes and after asking severla walmart employees for help on finding an item-all I got were hand gestures and blankl stares from them-because none of them allegedly did not understand or speak ENGLISH. Last time I checcked-ENGLISH IS the main language in this Country. Anyway, I got fed up of waiting for help and asked to see a manager-I got a VERY stupid and VERY PC one by the name of sharon. When sharon waked up to me-I was rip-roaring mad and had an angry look on my fact. The first thing this twit said was: You look very angray." I felt like saying-NO ship lady-and you would be too had you waitind for helpfrom seveal employees who walked right past where you were standing and none of them helped because none could speak English. I then said-doesmn't wm hire anyone who speaks English? What I got back from this twit wass: your a racist, and what I told the twit in german was that she was a sub-human half-breed.
No-that word is not a racist word. I hear people here everyday call someone else a _igger. If the word is looked up in the Dictionary-you will find that it is not a racist term-though its used as such. That word has a bad rep because of being misused-samething can be said about the word: "Gay". Gay means-happines. I had a first rate teacher whose first name was Gay.
I guess that Tom Cruise will be playing the John Wayne role. Wayne was in the original Flying Tigers movie.
It will be hard to leave the word Nigger out since it was also a codeword for successful attack on Mohne dam.
are there films about british soldiers at all? just becasue ive never seen any recent british ww2 films and would like 2 see some made especially some in burma
Auf Wiedersehen Finnland A documentary released in Finland this month on those hundreds of women who at the end of the war left Finland to be with their German husbands, the relationship which had developed during wartime. Also it covers the later return to Finland and how they were treated. Only now is it possible for these people to tell about their life back then.
I believe Flying Tigers is directed by John Woo, who also directed Mission: Impossibe 2 with Tom Cruise in it.
Ok this is gonna be hit. Don't know if anybody posted this. It's for the movie Iron Sky. The Story of Iron Sky Towards the end of World War II the staff of SS officer Hans Kammler made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right. Now it’s 2018, the Nazi invasion is on its way and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom. About the Film Iron Sky is a science fiction comedy being produced by Energia Productions, Blind Spot Pictures and co-produced by 27 Films.
