Hobbytown USA Rating: / 5 panzerpenguins (3/5) 3710 W Wt Harris Blvd # B Charlotte, NC 28269-8509 (704) 509-5717 + side: WWII German armor (1/35 scale mostly) Good selection of Vallejo paints, including the SS and Panzer collections (10 bottle set) Good selection of tools Carries AFV and MMiR magazines Has small selection of extra "bells and whistles" for armor. Metal tiger tracks, gun barrels, tow cables, etc. -side: Some models are REALLY jacked up on price. I'm talking $96.00+ for some. Very limited figures, mostly 1:35, absolutely no resin models of any scale. Staff: Friendly, experienced and owner has let us use his space for a model club meeting on the 2nd Sunday of every month. The owner is very model-friendly, and can be found working on his own stuff in the store on weekends, & he will gladly answer any and all questions from even the most casual of observers. I just wish he'd mix it up on the models a bit, get some more American/Allied stuff, and order some better figures, even if it was special order. I've heard of a place called "Hobbit Hobby" down by Ft. Bragg that I've been told has a really good selection of figures, but apparently is really priocey. Haven't been there myself, so i cant confirm.
Looked it up on Google Earth. Although I'm on Long Island, I could get there within a couple of hours of driving... not sure if it's worth it tho lol
Viking Hobby in Carmichael, CA (Suburb of Sacramento. Excellent selection of military models and supplies. Hang out for the local IMPS.
